Wisconsin lawmakers ask Senate to set vote on CBD bill

A bipartisan pair of Wisconsin state senators, Van Wanggaard and Robert Wirch, have sent a letter (Letter to Senate Org members requesting Lydia’s Law fix) to the members of the Wisconsin Senate Organization Committee that schedules bills for floor votes to schedule the  CBD oil bill AB228 for a vote by the full senate on Tuesday March 15.

The Assembly has already passed AB228 after adopting an amendment that clarifies details including the wording of physician letters approving patients to use CBD. As a federal Schedule I substance, cannabidiol, CBD, cannot be prescribed.

The five committee members are Republican Majority leader Scott Fitzgerald and two other Republicans, Leah Vukmir and Mary Lazich. Two Democrats round out the committee, Dave Hansen and Jennifer Shilling, the minority leader.
