Rep. Kremer and Sen. Testin to Hold Press Conference before Hearing on Hemp Bill
Experts will join legislators in support of the Farm Freedom Act
Joining them will be several experts, including Jim Holte, the President of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau; Katie Moyer, a hemp farmer from Kentucky; Ken Anderson, the founder of Legacy Hemp LLC – the country’s first producer of AOSCA certified hemp; Dr. Paul Mahlberg, a professor emeritus of botany from the University of Indiana; and Kara O’Connor representing the Wisconsin Farmers Union.
When: 9:15-9:45 A.M. on Tuesday, October 10th
The historic public hearing, the first in many years, comes with a lot of hope for the prospects for restoration of the Wisconsin Hemp Industry, which produced its last plants in the 1957-58 season. The Republican-sponsored bills have broad bipartisan support, and 7 of 9 members of the Committee on Agriculture, Small Business and Tourism holding the hearing have signed on to the bill.
