Madison NORML sets Capitol Lobby Day Sept. 15 for pot decrim and hemp bills

On Tuesday Sept. 15, from 9:00am to 4:00pm, the Madison and Wisconsin chapters of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) are holding a Cannabis Lobby Day at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison.

Activists from NORML are urging citizens interested in participating to schedule a short appointment with their state representative and state senator. To find out who your lawmakers are, visit this link. Participating citizen lobbyists are asked to focus their lobbying efforts on the two bills that have the most support now among state lawmakers, AB246/SB167, the cannabis decriminalization bill sponsored by Rep. Mandela Barnes (D-Milwaukee) and AB215, the industrial hemp bill sponsored by Rep. Dave Considine (D-Baraboo).

The evening before the lobby day, on Monday, Sept. 14 at 7:00pm, both Reps. Barnes and Considine will be on hand to discuss their bills at the Madison NORML meeting at the Wil-Mar Center on the near East Side of Madison at 953 Jenifer St, Madison, WI 53703.
